Last week, my laptop spontaneously died. No kidding, I was plodding along on a work spreadsheet when it simply froze up for a moment and then lost power. I was sure it was an automatic restart or something that I had failed to notice the warning for and attempted to re-power the machine. But upon activating the unit, nothing happened. The lights come on but there’s no desktop, no notice that windows is loading and worst of all, no activity by the hard drive. I began to realize this was not a minor problem and panic began to set in. There was so much on here I needed access to. Even though it was late, I called my IT guy from work. He assured me that anything I had accessed from work had been stored in the online storage he’d arranged for. Whatever changes I’d made then and there were gone but the file was safe and sound and could be retrieved the next morning. I breathed a sigh of relief, while the computer was indeed done for, at least my work was safe. With no other recourse, I called it a night, I’d have a lot to ctach up on in the morning.

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011I disagree with a recent review by Corenetworkz.com, as described in its computers internet blog on what it thinks about the Samsung NB30 netbook, more specifically, its battery life. In the review, although most of it are positive, it was said that the model’s 11 hour battery life promise may not be accurate. I bought one a couple of months ago and the very 1st thing I noticed about the product was its unusually long battery life. When all other brands and models I have used in the past only were useful for 5 to 8 hours, this particular Samsung model almost always doubles that. I got so interested on this that I put it in a documented test. The result was phenomenal! It stayed on inside close to 12 hours. I actually tested it twice thinking it was just a fluke the first time, and the result was the same. I definitely believe Samsung quite did real good this time.

Even his mobile phone was not working so I decided to go to his house. When I reached over there I was shocked to see Roger lying on the bed with his legs in plaster. I asked him what had happened. He told me that when the bus slowed down at a signal near his house he decided to alight but suddenly the bus picked up speed and he was thrown out of the bus. He lost consciousness due to pain which he experienced when he hit the ground. On waking up he found himself in a hospital and his legs were in plaster. I wished him a speedy recovery and gave his bag back to him.
