still wondering if you want a Flip Mino HD?

well, here is a sample of what it can do.  shot over the course of a long evening, in low light, and with a lot of background noise.  i edited many different short clips together, added the song, and set the recorded audio lower than the song audio, all with the pre-installed software that came with the camera. my sister-in-law is a photographer, and she bought one of these after seeing mine in action, that’s how good the image quality is.  true, the zoom is limited, but for a camera that fits in your pocket, what do you expect?  the battery lasts forever, it can record up to an hour of video, and the device has almost zero lag time.  i’ve had it a year and still love it as much as the day i got it.

i’m pretty sure i uploaded this in non-hd format to save time, so that’s why the quality looks less than hd (it is).  also, this camera shoots a bunch of frames per second (i’m not sure how many), and you can click through frame by frame and grab a snapshot of any of them and save it as a pic if you want.  it’s a wonderful way to get high quality candid photos.  i have a great one of my nephew, but it’s on my other computer; i’ll add it the next time i have it up and running.

here’s another, shorter, video that shows how the camera adjusts for low light.  this one is in hd, which is great, because i made it at 4am and look like hell.

Great vid quality here. I have been wanting an HD mini cam and this looks pretty dawg-on solid! My brother has that one designed by Courtney Love and David Arquette (http://www.instyle.com/instyle/package/general/photos/0,,20317222_20318547_20696011,00.html), and though i have recorded with it, I haven’t seen the Mino quality up until now.

Random Thought: I often hear complaints about security cameras on traffic lights and all over the city, but pretty much every American with a cell phone is a walking camera? And now we have HD video and sound to boot! No need to force 1984 on us, we are willingly adopting the technology. And to be quite honest, the tech is sweet and seems to enhance my life in a lot of beneficial ways.

man, i hear ya about big brother. i have a red light ticket from over a year ago that i refuse to pay. (they do make stuff you can spray on your plates to prevent getting photo’d.

i love my flip mino, but have recently learned of another little camera gadget - GoPro Hero. no screen to see the vid, but that’s not what it’s about. it’s a high impact, waterproof, stabilized attachable mini-cam. if i ever heal up enough to go longboarding with my pit, i want one of these…
