do some good
so my nephew, who is one of my favorite things in the world, is taking a school trip to Costa Rica this summer. thing is, he has to raise some cash to make the trip. he’s 12, and has already raised over $500 on his own doing odd jobs and hitting up suckers like his awesome aunt sue (who will be donating directly). take a minute and check out his video below (he’s posting one a day for the next week), and check the links to see what it’s all about. this is a great educational opportunity for him! i mean, cheese and rice, the kid just discovered ps3 video games, if we don’t get him out in the world soon he may never come out of his room. seriously though, he’s a sweet boy, and this is one of those trips that could be a life changer. here’s the spiel in his words:
Hi family and friends,
Please allow me to introduce myself, (in case you don’t remember me or just know my Mom, Cris Strong). Anyway, I’m taking a school trip to Costa Rica and I want to tell you about it. I will be going with some of my classmates and my World Culture teacher in only 9 weeks! (June 7-15 2010) . It will be full of educational opportunities and adventures. I will be sending 5 videos on some highlights on my trip. One video will be sent every day this week through YouTube.I would appreciate your sponsorship on this education opportunity and adventure as I travel outside the USA for the first time!Below are some website links you might find helpful:Educational tour website. This is the tour group my classmates and I will be with throughout the trip. My teacher has worked with them before and likes them. This is the website where you can make a contribution towards my trip if you want to. The website collects the money through PayPal. You can use a credit card to a contribution of any amount. It shows the total amount of the trip, but it doesn’t show that I have earned over $500. myself!Your sponsorship is greatly appreciated!
