if sports teams were named after bands…

my friend James and i were talking over a beer (ok several) the other night while watching the mavs beat the spurs. I decided sports teams would be oh so much more interesting if they were named after bands. it wouldn’t necessarily (sp) have to be a local band, but that would make it cooler.

for example, you could have the San antonio Santanas, the Detroit Cars, the mavericks would of course still be the mavericks. the Miami Sound Machine. the Brooklyn beasties (if Brooklyn still had a team).
