sometimes it just sucks

natasha richardson’s death blows hard for a lot of reasons. mainly, it’s just freakin’ crazy that a fall like that could kill you. even worse that something so freak has to happen to a celebrity family, so now they have to deal with it under a microscope. having lost a parent at 14, i can’t imagine what it would be like to have to do it with a bunch of a-holes stalking me for pictures for a magazine. and why are people all up in arms over the fact that she wasn’t wearing a helmet? maybe, just maybe it would have helped, but my instincts say it wouldn’t have (especially given the fact that she was walking and talking for a while after the fall), and helmets do more to prevent intrusion type injuries. sounds like this was more of a force issue…helmet would’ve made a minimal difference at best, i would think. it’s just a shitty situation.
